Antioxidant Turmeric Latte

When it comes to fighting inflammation, this latte is pure gold. It’s made with a pinch of black pepper to enhance the absorption of curcumin, the active ingredient in turmeric that’s known for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Ginger adds a touch of spice, while cardamom brings a warm, aromatic depth. Enjoy this flavorful drink hot or cold!

Ingredients:

2 1/2 cups milk — almond, macadamia, or coconut, divided 

2 tablespoons maple syrup (add more for a sweeter flavor) 

¼ teaspoon vanilla extract

1 ½ teaspoons ground turmeric

¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon

¼ teaspoon ground ginger

1 pinch ground cardamom

1 pinch ground black pepper

Instructions:

Pour half your milk into a small saucepan with maple syrup, vanilla and all of the spices. 

Set over medium-low heat and gently whisk until the mixture is warmed through and gently boiling — this helps the spices break down and blend well. 

Add the rest of your milk to a glass with ice (or into a mug if you prefer it warm). Pour the spice mix over, stir and enjoy!
